Starting in Rotorua, riders will head out from the central city along the Green Corridor and the Ngongotaha cycleway, up Dansey Road to Mamaku, and then down the unsealed South Road and along Mossop Road to Tokoroa. From Tokoroa, you ride along quiet country roads towards Jim Barnett Reserve, where we will camp for the night. This first day is 80 kilometres long.
On the second day, you’ll ride south along the Waikato River Trail to Whakamaru, where we will camp at the Whakamaru camp ground just a few kilometres south of the dam. This day involves 51 kilometres of riding, most of it on singletrack following the Waikato river.
For the third day, you’ll continue along the Waikato River Trail to Atiamuri, another 23 kilometres of singletrack, followed by a short section on the highway, across the Ohakuri Dam, and along more gravel and quiet country roads back to Rotorua. This day’s riding is a total of 78 kilometres.
